Why did you decide to start playing guitar?

I grew up liking Ace Frehley from KISS. Plus, next to singers, chicks really dig guitar players.

Who inspired you to pick up a guitar?

The riff from Ozzy’s “Crazy Train” inspired me to pick up a guitar and jam.  I know there is a cassette tape around somewhere that has me literally learning how to play guitar on it. Ha ha! 

What brands/ models do you use to record?

Ibanez RG's 7- string custom and production models.  Been a dedicated Ibanez user for a long time.

Favorite guitar brand?

Ibanez is my guitar of choice.  I’ve endorsed them for almost 10 years now and I am always highly satisfied by the quality of the Custom gear I get from Ibanez. Getting parts sent out to me and having quick customer service is a big perk. too.

Any challenges while learning your craft?  Any techniques that are a bitch?

Everything is a challenge at first ‘til you work at it over and over. The more you play the better you get, just like anything else in life.

Any advice for people who wanna learn to play but might be nervous to do so?

You just gotta want it;  if your not 100% interested in it then don't bother. If you are driven to do it,then it'll happen. 

What’s up with Mushroomhead’s new album?

Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children; it’s a record that has a very diverse sound. We’re a metal- based band but the style changes throughout every song. It's an album that has something for everyone. Driving guitars, meaningful lyrics meant to motivate and inspire and hooky keyboards make up Mushroomhead's unique sound.
